Thoughts on a Sunday at 12:09

- Start early, be steady- from reading the Ensign today. The story was about preparing early. I think we need to get up earlier so our scripture study isn't so rushed. Can I do it? I need to do it. It is going to be hard though. I am not a morning person, and I have a bunch of excuses why getting up is hard for me now (ok, I have one excuse who is an adorable girl with the initials SGL who likes midnight snacks... and another is a seminary going person who sleeps in the same room as me who pushes snooze about 10 times from 5 am to 5:45 am... again no full names here but he is also is cute and then we pray at 5:55 before he leaves for the day).



- Saving money for missions is important. We need to make this a priority.

Stomach flu aftermath

Curtis and Ethan were in Utah when Ethan started barfing... on Joel and Sara's sidewalk. The rest of us were home thankfully and had our buckets and beds which when you're sick there is no place like home, right? I am so grateful to feel like I can take care of everybody again! I am glad that Curtis and Ethan came home early, even though they missed a day of plans that they had in Utah. They made it to the BYU basketball game and watched Jimmer and had a great time. Ethan said: "I screamed as loud as I could and I couldn't even hear myself it was so loud!"

Sadie's sad sad diaper rash

Poor Sadie Grace had the worst case of diaper rash that I have ever witnessed before. It started out as a chapped little bottom because her skin was so pink at first that I couldn't tell that she had the first signs of diaper rash. I finally noticed it when Selena came to take her pictures and her little bum was up in the air! So I started treating it with aquaphor, thinking that if it was chapped then it would need some moisturizing. I am not sure histologically what happened after that, but tiny red blisters popped up everywhere, and then in the folds of her legs, the skin actually started to PEEL OFF. I had some major mom guilt because of it, but fortunately things are looking good, thanks to alot of creamy desitin and nightly baths and drying off in front of the space heater. Sadie loves to be warm, must run through the maternal side of the family!

Jonah loves his baby sister. He is going to teach her lots of things, like how to ride a two-wheeler, when he is 10 and Sadie is 5. And he also tells me regularly how when he is bigger he is going to take care of Sadie and Janie really well. He told me out of the blue the other day that: 'My most precious gifts awe my mom and my little sistews.' I am not making this stuff up, really! Jonah had the stomach flu this last week, and by Thursday night he was finally feeling better. He came into my bedroom, and said: "Guess what mom, I got healed!" with a big smile. And then he said: "And I am going to sewve all the children."

Last night we came home from Mason's birthday party and he told me:'Mom you're HOT.'

Not sure what to make of that one, except for the obvious fact that he is a boy genius! Bah ha ha!

Princess Grace

On Christmas Eve Curtis and I had a few hours alone with Sadie at the hospital. We knew we had to decide on a name because he was going home to stay up all night to get Christmas ready, and I was going to be up early getting Sadie and I ready to come home as early as possible. So we sat down with our list of names written on a yellow sheet of legal paper, that we started before Ethan was born. Our little list has gone to the hospital with us 5 times now, and crazy enough all our kids' names have come off that same list! We had a few possibilites for this little girl, but as we were looking up the meaning of the 2 or 3 that we were down to, we read that Sadie has Hebrew origins and means princess. Of course she is a Sadie! She is our little princess!

It is freezing cold today, like 4 degrees with 20 mph winds that make it REALLY cold. I was hoping that we could stay in today, but then realized that the boys have karate tonight. Curtis is in Morristown and gets back tonight. His truck is going to be frozen solid at the airport, I hope he remembered to bring his gloves this time. Janie is in her bed still awake, Sadie is sleeping in her stroller, and Jonah has a friend, Mason, from preschool over. Also, Jonah has played the wii WAY too much today.
