Mother's Day 2011

A beautiful Mother's Day. No pictures from the normal/funny/maddening part of the day which include:
-Me getting breakfast in bed by cjl and a few of the not grumpy kids who were actually awake. Eli is happy when I give him hoogs.
- Janie and I coming to church in a separate car because we weren't ready on time
- 3 boys singing 'Mother Tell me the Story- so sweetly during Sacrament Meeting... wait, I hallucinated. It was 3 boys ducking behind the stand, and then Cortney Hill Youngquist making them stand up. Then Jonah making the 'your loco' sing behind Spencer Lee's head, and Ethan leaning his head against his hand and not singing AT ALL. And me shaking my head and mouthing STOP IT for the last 2/3 of the song. Then taking them out for a talk...they were lucky it was me and not cjl.
- Fighting non stop over the fun ball all afternoon

But a wonderful Mother's Day nonetheless. One of my favorite days of the year! I love being a mom to these kids, it is a wild, fun ride!

Week of April 24-30

Baseball is in full swing and it is craaaazy!! Between Ethan and Eli we have practices 4 times a week, added on top of karate, scouts, and whatever Curtis or I may have in the evenings. This week practice was rained out a few times, which was fine by me! I got my haircut and colored this week- Kim watched the kids, which was very nice of her. Our little friend Squeakers has a new home at the Duncombes, and Eli already bought a little hamster which is called Minion. I went to the temple yesterday- it was Scovia's first time. It was so peaceful and sweet to be with ward friends and Scovia. It has been so cold and rainy- it actually was snowing a teeny bit today on our way home from church. This week is going to be a wild ride, Monday the calendar is already packed full. Ethan has been under the weather as well, I am probably going to take him in tomorrow for a strep test.

Sadie Grace is so funny and irresistible. She is doing a little cry out when someone holds her who she doesn't know. She is a little particular that way. She loves her mama though! She is still sleeping like a champ. Moving into 3-6 month clothes- she is a tall baby!
Janie Kate is delightful and exhausting. She chatters up a storm and has a laugh that makes everyone grin. She is full of energy and is up and down at the table millions of times. Helen Keller all over again. She loves ketchup, candy, cottage cheese. She does not like strawberries, cantaloupe, vegetables, or anything unidentifiable to her. She turns her mouth away and gives me a look whenever I try to give her a bite of something. Tonight at dinner she did eat some salad with ranch on it which was a first!
Jonah is still a little affectionate dude. He kissed my feet today. He loves to be silly and make people laugh. We like to play the wii together. He gets quite a bit of screen time:( I try to limit it but he is home during the day and is either playing with a friend, legos, wii or computer. Sometimes he plays with GAY. I mean Janie:)That is his nickname for her. He will play with Spencer Lee for hours. They are good buddies.
Eli can be the sweetest big brother. He will take Janie Kate outside and play with her and just love it... until he gets sick of it and then man will I hear it! He usually is the most difficult in the morning getting ready for school. Alot of times he says he is not going, tries to work every angle, says he is sick, etc. But then he shifts gears and walks out the door just fine- in too big of a hurry for a hug and kiss. He likes baseball.
Ethan is a little emo at times but doing really well. He is a big help, and usually does what I ask him to do. He loves to play wii, and read Harry Potter. He often will come up with Harry Potter trivia for me. It's fun to talk about the books with him- it's a whole world that he is finding and exploring. Likes karate, doing great at it, just got his yellow belt green stripe. Has good form and is flexible.

And CJL is just amazing. He is so busy but always helps with dishes, laundry, bedtime, all of it. He is just like First Security Bank: currently giving 110%. I miss him when he is gone b/c he makes me laugh and he works so hard. I am glad he does both! The house can go from immaculate to shambles in a very short time! But we work on it after the kids go to bed and then start a new day. The days are long but the years are short as they say. So time to gear up for a new week, time to enjoy a busy baseball season!
