We were about one millimeter away from going to the ER Monday night, thanks to a swing, a pair of pruners, and 2 boys who have been fighting alot these days. Eli was sitting in the baby swing below our deck, and Jonah got mad about something, and walked up to him and threw the shears at Eli's face. Eli started screaming, and Curtis came running ( I was upstairs putting JK to bed). Curtis said that he could see blood around Eli's eye but Eli wouldn't open his eye. He also said that he picked Eli up and Eli clung onto him so hard! Curtis thought that the shears had pierced Eli's eye, until they got upstairs, and then Eli opened his eye. The shears caught him right in the corner of the eye and scratched down Eli's face. What I heard from upstairs was 2 boys crying like they had been seriously injured. Mom's know that cry, ya know? Jonah was WAILING, and this is what he said:
WAAHHH: MOM I FEEL SOOOOO BAD!!
WAAHHHH: I SHOULDN'T HAVE DID THAT SHOULD I???
I'M SOOOO TIRED! WAAHHHH
While he was doing this Curtis and Eli were having a conversation in the next room. Eli came into the bathroom and said:
"It's ok Jonah, I forgive you... " gave Jonah a big hug, and shed a few tears himself. I think I did too. And pretty sure Curtis had a few as well. It was a sweet moment.
And later in the bath tub Jonah told me at least 3 times:
"Mom, I'm SEWIOUS I fowgive Eli!"
I'm pretty sure that Jonah was having good feelings for Eli by that comment, and that is a very good thing these days!

April showers
What filled up thise weekend?? Rain and fun stuff that's what! We finally had Ethan's birthday party with a few friends Saturday evening. It was alot of fun. 8 boys worth of fun. Saturday night we watched HGtv and hung out. It was so much fun. I don't know if the stars were aligned just right, or if everyone was coming off the party high, but nobody was fighting. Jo and I played tic tac toe, and Curtis assembled Ethan's new Bionicle. Grandy and Grumpy stopped by. Eli cracked up a few times so hard that he couldn't talk. JK slept through it all. She sleeps like a champ, I am so grateful for that. 12-13 hours a night and rarely wakes up.
Today we had a chilly day, but a nice day with church, quick nap, and hanging out with the Lee's. I need to post a picture about Curtis and Brandon's latest venture together. We are excited for summer to say the least. Back to a work week tomorrow! Hope I can get the play room painted and toys moved in, and after that on to Ethan's new room. Oh, also did about 10 loads of laundry this weekend... made a dent but there is always more to do!! Baseball started for Ethan last week, what a busy schedule! 3 nights a week for the next 2 weeks, and then games start! Crazy! Life is busy and intense and messy and very often hilarious.

Ethan's B-day and Baptism
Wow it has been quite the week around here, Ethan turned 8 last Tuesday, April 6th, and then he was baptized Sunday, April 11. I cannot believe that MY child was baptized on Sunday. I'm way too young to have an 8 year old... right? It was well worth feeling old to have such a beautiful day and special ordinance happen in Ethan's life. He had an interview with our Bishop, Bishop Crockett, a few weeks ago, and Bishop Crockett said that Ethan really understood what baptism meant. I love this age of 8! The buck teeth and everything. We were singing a song during scriptures today and Ethan's voice is so sweet and high, but it won't always be that way, he's growing up quick!!

Ethan opened one present when he woke up- it was a Bakugan and a Bakugan guide book.
Eli, Eth and mom. We are making a Bionicle cake for his friend party in a few weeks

Ethan's first scriptures! He was so excited, he took them to his first night of Scouts last Wed!
Walking out the door on the way back to the church- self styled hair
Ethan and Curtis
Afterward, getting in on the cookies

This one speaks for itself. Janie was having a rough day.

Grandpa LaClaire confirmed Ethan as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I had to convince Ethan to let Curtis baptize him... he wanted Grumpy to do that too!
