Thanksgiving 2008

I almost can't believe that I'm posting about Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving. So unlike me to be prompt like that! Thanksgiving to me is: celebrating our many blessings with family and food (and looking at ads for Black Friday. Are you getting up early?). And now after cooking for two days straight I can say that I can make an entire Thanksgiving dinner by myself. It's like giving birth naturally (!!!!), given a choice, I would probably choose a different route, but it was totally worth it!
Menu:
Brined turkey, roasted upside down
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Hot Gravy
Baked Ham
Aunt Joyce's sweet potatoes
Green Bean casserole
Rolls hot from the oven w/ homemade strawberry jam
Homemade cranberry sauce- almost didn't make it but good thing I did because Jane liked it alot
Pumpkin and Apple pie with vanilla ice cream

At the table, after the annual Turkey Bowl, before dinner.

Our guests were Elder Dixon and Elder Moore (we were the first of their 3!!! dinners), and Miss Jane Morse from our ward.

Cute picture of my little men looking at our little lady.

And my sweet love did the dishes afterward! The only thing that would have made this day better would have been to be with grandmas and grandpas and grumpies and grandies and aunties and uncles and cousins. Maybe next year!!

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet

I do my best and only blogging at night, late at night. I need uninterrupted time and that only exists when my four babes... no FIVE babes are asleep. I am so not a morning person because of these late night addictions! Today I woke up to Curtis leaning over me saying "Ethan's bus is gonna be here in 20 minutes!" WHAAT? Jump out of bed, throw on some clothes, grab Janie Kate, race down and pack a snack, backpack, and run out to the bus stop. PHEW.

So... finally gonna post Halloween pictures!

We had a ward trunk or treat but I didn't take any pictures, :( But we had lots of fun:)

Went Trick-or-Treating with the Frugones on Halloween, they have a great neighborhood for it, and the boys had a fabulous time singing, no it was more YELLING:

TRICKORTREATSMELLMYFEETGIMMESOMETHINGOODTOEAT

IFYOUDON'TIDON'TCAREI'LLPULLDOWNYOURUNDERWEAR!!!!!!!!

ahh BOYS.

And combined we had SIX of them, and one little girl in a huge tutu!

Geo: Spiderman, Christiano: The Hulk, Angelo: Batman, Ethan: Ninja, Jonah: Indiana Jones, Eli: Ninja

Janie Kate: A kitty cat ballerina or just a green tu tu :0

And I don't think they sang the above song to anyone's face. I'm almost positive...

But they do look pretty mischevious!

Eli tried on daddy's fro, and dad stretched the ninja mask!

Eli: "Can we take our weapends on REGULAR OLD HALLOWEEN??" (after not being able to take them to preschool or anywhere that he could use them on an innocent bystander)

Happy Halloween!

Our little friend

We have a little pal who wants to join our family... too bad he probably has ticks and lice and would eat all our Honey Bunches of Oats or we would let him 'be our pet,' as Eli said. He has come inside twice, when the deck door was left open. It's a shock let me tell ya to be sitting innocently spending some quality time on facebook and have a squirrel walk by like he owns the place.

But he is kinda cute, yeah??

Playing Tag

I have been tagged a few times and have been a big party pooper every time but I'll try this one, it looked pretty short. Janessa: I know you tagged me for 8 things but I like this one better! Here goes.

I am: typing this blog... ha ha
I know: that the Lord has blessed me.
I want: a really cool playroom for the kiddos.
I have: an awesome husband
I dislike: whining kids
I miss: family in Minnesota and Idaho. And Roberts craft stores and Deseret Book.
I feel: like rearranging furniture.
I hear: Backyardagains and Janie Kate
I smell: banana bread

I regret: holding grudges when I was a teenager
I love: my little family soo much
I worry: about the environment
I remember:when Spencer W. Kimball was the prophet
I dance: to Real McCoy in the family room.
I don't: smoke but I have had dreams where I did and liked it alot. Don't worry I'm not gonna start:) I think it was because of a vitamin deficiency when I was pregnant.
I argue: rarely.
I write: in 5 journals pretty regularly.
I win: Guitar Hero. Only played a few times but I rock.
I lose: patience with Eli (Hmm I'm noticing a theme today)

Kissy-face Bear

I just downloaded Jonah's pictures from when he turned 3 and remembered how cute they turned out! I started calling Jo kissy-face bear because he was giving out kisses like crazy in August and September. He would kiss me on the arm, nose, lips, hand, knee... anywhere he could get those lips on me he would! And of course I loved every kiss... even the ones during dinner when I would end up with half his dinner on my arm!

Ethan the Great

Ethan and I spent some time together tonight while Curtis, Eli, and Jonah were out running errands. We made pumpkin pies, emptied the dishwasher together, and then we went downstairs and played GUYS. We actually had alot of fun, and then built up the t-rex mountain that was in pieces. Ethan is my runner. If I ask him to do something he jumps up and does whatever it is without me having to ask him twice. He is also a big helper to his brothers, he can build the best forts out of the couch cushions and knows how to turn on the tv, and use the remote to turn on Ben-10!! (Actually this is pretty useful to me too!) He is pretty handy at putting a pacifier in Janie's mouth, and he can make his bed like a pro, and usually does it by himself.
Ethan: "Janie smells like... a cheeto."(it's all that spit up stuck in her neck... I promise we do bathe our fourth child)
Ethan: "We're gonna make a GRAFT to figure out which one we wanna do."(After we gave the kids some different choices about what we could do today)
