Well it was a pretty amazing weekend in October this year! We had all grandparents converge at our house in Mesa for Janie's baptism on Saturday, and Lukey's blessing on Sunday. Grumpy arrived first on Wednesday morning, then Grandma and Grandpa Tanner came in Thursdy afternoon, and then Grandy came in Friday afternoon. Friday we were able to take the boat out to the lake with everybody and Luke for the first time! He did great too.
Saturday was Janie's big day. She was so excited. I am so proud of her for so many reasons. She is such a good friend, unselfish sister, helpful daughter, and loves Jesus!
One memory I have of this day is how sparkly clean and beautiful Janie looked after her baptism. Bishop Wood commented that he could feel the love the Lord has for Janie. I could too, it was a special day for all of us to feel that and be together.
Our special neighbors came to the baptism and to our home afterward. Janie is their friend and she goes next door to show them a tooth she lost, or to tell them some very important news, or just to get a chocolate chip cookie that Susan always has in the freezer. We love the Mannings!
Sunday morning Sacrament meeting starts at 8:30, so we knew we would need to get up early to be there on time. Well somehow in the night I set my clock ahead an hour, so as we were getting ready I thought we had plenty of time (my clock said 6:30 am), but then Curtis looked at the clock we have in our bathroom and said- wait it's 7:30? Whaaa?? We had wanted to be at the church at 8 am. I had wanted to take pictures of getting Luke into his little outfit etc. Well all of that went out the window, but luckily we were still able to be a few minutes early. We just had to roll! haha! We have watched Hotel Transylvanie too many times. All was great and Curtis gave Luke a beautiful blessing.
It was a beautiful weekend. We were so grateful to have all our grandma's and grandpa's together. So special.
