Janie Kate turns 7!!!

Janie was so so so excited for her Birthday. She wanted a fish. Not a fish dinner (although she loves to eat salmon when I make it). No, she wanted a pet and was not going to stop asking, reminding, hinting, until she had a fish in a bowl in her room! So Saturday morning we went to her soccer game, and then to petco where we she found him, her dream fish! He is purple and blue with reddish coloured fins- and I think she settled on the name Chancho although Violet and Ken were up there too. This year was family birthday party so we waited for Ethan and Eli to get home from their camporee, and then we went to eat at Freddy's! But first we had to stop at Krispy Kreme dressed up as pirates to get a dozen free doughnuts! Super fun! After dinner we dropped off the boys to see Maze runner 2, and Janie and Sadie and I went to see Inside Out. We almost ate a large popcorn between the 3 of us!

7 great things about Janie:
1- Janie is kind and considerate. Today we were saying her prayers and I asked her who she wanted to pray- me or her? She said you pick. I said ok I will pray. She said no it's ok I'll pray and you can- you know- just relax.
2- Janie says  -you know- as an add on to many of her sentences. Its- you know- very cute and fun to hear her use this alot.
3- Janie is super affectionate and LOVES to give kisses on the lips. I mean closes her eyes and gets into it. Worried about this! haha!
4- Janie gave her friend Kelly a Book of Mormon a few weeks ago. She told Kelly and her dad that you have to read it EVERYDAY. EVERY MORNING. Kelly didn't know about Jesus (I guess they had this conversation on the bus a few times) and Janie couldn't believe that. She told me a few times that she had to teach Kelly about Jesus because Kelly didn't know. Fearless testimony that Janie.
5- Janie by nature is a caretaker of people. Even at her young age she often will see a need that someone else has and will take care of it right away. She covers me up with blankies if I fall asleep on the couch. She would try to change Sadie's diaper before Sadie was potty trained. She is very capable and get things done. I am excited for her to developed this talent.
6- When Janie grows up she wants to be a Doctor and a Mom. She drew a picture for Mrs. Knoles and I think those things would suit her.
7-Janie loves to sing and will walk around the house singing with a little vibrato. She also loves to play mine craft on the iPad.

Jonah turns 10!!

Jonah is so awesome! Loves his new hair cut with a hard part. We had some friends over in the morning, so we swam and hung out with them. Then we went to see Ant Man, and then had Panda Express for dinner. Jonah got some stuff from Freedom Board Shop, and a new skate board that we ordered online. He got some new shoes and some stance socks, these boys and their socks it is insane! Fun birthday for this fun boy!!
10 for 10!!!
1-Jonah's freckles are so… freckly and cute!
2- Jonah is a kind big brother. I pulled up behind him and Janie walking home from the bus stop, and saw Jonah lean in and say something to Janie, and then he put his arm around her. He will often tell Janie and Sadie that they look good. He also is very kind to little Brooklyn. He greets her with a "Hey Brooksters" or a "Brookie Sugar Cookie. "
3- Jonah tells me stuff. Just random things about what happened at school or a dream.
4- Jonah likes to look good, he will often set his clothes out the night before, just to make sure it all goes together. And then even with that he will change a few times before he goes somewhere.
5- Jonah threw an 80 year touchdown at his football game last week. He has memorised all the plays and loves to play.
6-Jonah cut the grass this week out of his own initiative- he did it for both Ethan and Eli- and made $20! He did a great job too. He is a hard worker. He was so cute in his shorts and no shirt. It was humid and hot out there and he finished anyway! Good Job Jo!
7-Jonah loves to laugh and has a cute giggle! He sometimes can't control himself and leaks a little pee when he laughs really hard.
8-Jonah is doing a good job learning how to play the piano and violin. He keeps going even though sometimes it is frustrating. And today he gave me a big thank you for helping him learn his song that he is playing for the Primary Program.
9- Jonah is affectionate and won't hesitate to give CJL and I a big hug or even (gasp) a kiss on the lips before bed! He has also promised that I can come live in his mansion with him when I am old.
10-Jonah did a great job this last summer staying with Dive and swim team. He got super tan and learned to love diving. I hope he will continue with that.
One more thing that I have to add is that Jonah loves his sleep and does best with a full nights rest! He sleeps with two big blankets wrapped around his head and body like a mummy. If it's getting late he will sometimes just put himself to bed.

August 10-16 First Day of School 2015

Oh the excitement on the first day of school! And a few nervous tummies this year… See if you can guess who was a little anxious...

Eli- is in Mrs. Brimley's class this year.

Jonah has Mrs. Wilcox this year.

Janie sweet Janie! 1st grade with Ms. Copeland.

Janie and Mila are in the same class! YAY!

Janie has some good friends in her class this year- Summer Chipman from Arboleda and Hayley Tyson from her class last year. So grateful that she got to sit by these two nice girls the first day!

Ethan is at Stapley Jr. High again this year.

I love that smile! He is even wearing his bands I see!

Sadie Grace is at Mrs. McClure's Preschool this year, her first year of Pre-shool! She was so ready to go, no tears or tugging at my sleeve this year! She didn't wear the sweat shirt for very long- it was too hot!

Love this little angel pixie girl of mine.

After school we went to get a few school supplies. After that we all came home and it was so hot I laid down and fell asleep for a few minutes. Dinner at the new Tia Rosa's on Greenfield and Brown to end the day. While we were there Ethan for whatever reason (13 years old I guess) decided to climb the exterior stone at Tia Rosa's. Well a chunk came out as he was using it to pull up, and it hit him on the forehead as it fell. He got a welt on his head and a headache. And he felt bad for wrecking the stone. We told the workers what had happened and ended up being ok. So lesson learned I hope! Another reason Why We Can't Have Nice Things. Did I mention the red otter pop on our Family room rug? or purple crayon in the vacuum? Love these kids even though they destroy stuff!
