Tater Days Parade

Who doesn't love going to a parade? We had our community parade last night and it was just like I remember... sitting on the grass in a camping chair, standing up when the flag goes by, bouncing along to the drumline. And the tootsie rolls and jolly ranchers were plentiful. Here come the police cars...
Me: Eli, why are you hiding behind my chair?
Eli: Cuz I don't want to get awwested...

Guilty conscience of a 5 year old. I just want to know what he thinks he's going to get arrested for!!!

Let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

And summer 2009 begins!

Last Thursday was Ethan's last day of school! I can't believe that he is going to be a second grader. I have a 7 year old. That is so crazy. We started swim lessons today at Jackson middle school pool which is really close to our house. Ethan loves swimming. Eli did great too, Jonah was a little hesitant but after 20 minutes he was having fun. JK ate my shoulder and waved at everyone. She is really waving! It is too cute.

Swim lessons are from 5- 5:35 (Who schedules this stuff?) so we ate before, and when we got home, everyone was hungry again, so we broke out the Captain Crunch. Well Eli was opening it with a pair of scissors, which he did just fine, but as soon as I thought things were under control with him, he dumped almost the entire bag out over his bowl, the counter, his lap and the floor. We all pitched in and picked it up - no problem. Not even 5 minutes later Eli decided that he wanted a gatorade. He also decided that he wanted it in a sippy cup. So he stood in the middle of the kitchen with the gatorade in one hand and the sippy cup in another, and dumped without stopping, until the grape gatorade was pooling around his feet.

Ahh... and so summer begins with a grape gatorade/Captain Crunch floor. Add that cup of sand that Jonah emptied out of his shoe from the sandbox... sweet. lovin my summer already.

Eli's quote of the week

Eli, sitting at the bar eating lunch this week said very thoughtfully:

"I'm not weally that into stand up potties....

I'm mowe into sit-down potties..."

(Lucky for all the sitters in the house!)

Parents Day at Zion preschool, Eli was so cute singing those rock out Christian songs!

Eli with his teachers Mrs. Pelowski and Mrs. Nordine. Wow we love this 5 year old!
