One thing in particular is the fandom influence of the area. In NJ, you either love em or hate em...if you love em, they are integral to every part of your life. If you hate em, you hate more than anything... Yankees or Mets, Jets or Giants, Devils or Rangers, Nets or Knicks, Wicked or Mama Mia...ok not so much on Broadway, but sports teams...oh my goodness.

Shortly after school started last year, it was evident the kindergarten fandom had besieged Ethan, even poisened his mind...he suddenly had a favorite team...and it wasn't BYU, the Vikes, the Twins or even the Wolves...Ethan was a YANKEES fan. His buddy Dom (Dominic...is that so Jersey or what?) is quite the sports enthusiast and had Ethan singing the praises of the New York Yankees. We took a trip to Boston this spring and Ethan even resisted buying a Red Sox hat at Fenway Park....go figure.
Anyway, we have tried hard to take in all the history we can out here...and as you may or may not know, this is the FINAL SEASON at the old Yankee Stadium...so I wanted to take the boys in to see a game. Well after multiples searches and no luck for 4 tickets seated together, a season ticket holder friend of mine at work offered me 4 tickets seated together for a game that they could not attend.

We made a whole afternoon out of it...went in early, watched batting practice, spent a bunch of money on $8 hotdogs and $7 dollar sodas (I did avoid the $45 t-shirts by stopping and buying them at a WalMart on the way in), and got home around 11:30pm...it was great!
We had great lower level reserved seats just off the first baseline.
